Query
I'm already the registered ASIC agent for a company and it shows in the ASIC Registered Agent Portal, but I don't appear as the Registered Agent in CAS 360. How do I sync CAS 360 with ASIC without lodging a Form 362?
Solution
You don't need to lodge a Form 362. A Form 362 is only used to appoint or cease an agent with ASIC. If ASIC already lists you as the company's agent, you only need to update the Registered Agent field in CAS 360.
Why CAS 360 doesn't match ASIC
The Registered Agent field on the General Details screen is a CAS 360 setting. CAS 360 does not update it from ASIC for companies already in your database, so it must be selected manually.
Step 1: Check your agent is set up in CAS 360
| From the Main Toolbar, go to Settings. | |
| Select Lodgement/Agent Settings. |
Confirm your agent is listed and the Agent Number matches the agent number ASIC has recorded against the company.
If your agent isn't listed, see Setting up an ASIC Agent.
Step 2: Attach the agent to the company
- From the Main Toolbar, go to Company.
- Select the company from the list.
- Select General Details.
- In the Registered Agent field, select your agent.
- Save the change.
Done
CAS 360 now shows you as the Registered Agent. Agent forms such as the RA71 and RA63 will automatically select this agent for the company.
Step 3: Upload the company data from ASIC with Form RA71
Once your agent is attached, lodge a Form RA71 so CAS 360 receives the company's current ASIC data.
Importing overwrites existing data
Importing replaces the selected company data in CAS 360 with ASIC's data. Any historical information entered for the company, such as previous officeholders or share transactions, will be lost. Only toggle on the data you want replaced.
For more information, see Form RA71 - Request Electronic Data Download.
Done
CAS 360 now shows you as the Registered Agent and holds the company's current ASIC data. Agent forms such as the RA63 will automatically select this agent for the company.
Confirm which companies ASIC has linked to your agent
To check ASIC's records, or to update several companies at once, lodge a Form RA61 - Request Review Date Report. ASIC returns an RA62 report, which CAS 360 displays in three pages:
| RA62 page | What it means |
|---|---|
| In CAS 360 | Companies ASIC lists you as the agent for that are already in CAS 360. |
| Not in CAS 360 | Companies ASIC lists you as the agent for that haven't been added to CAS 360. Select Options to import them. CAS 360 lodges an RA71 for each company and imports the company data. |
| Not in ASIC | Companies in CAS 360 that ASIC does not list you as the agent for. |
If the company doesn't appear on your RA62
ASIC has the company linked to a different agent number. Check the following:
- If your firm has more than one agent number, make sure the RA61 was lodged under the correct agent. Each agent number has its own EDGE user ID and password.
- If the company isn't linked to any of your agent numbers, you need to be appointed as the agent. See Form 362 - Registered Agent Appointment and Cessation.
