How does beneficial ownership work?
What is Beneficially Held?
Beneficially held refers to whether the shares are owned by the shareholder (so the benefits of the shares go to the shareholder) or are held by the shareholder on behalf of a trust or another party (so the benefits of the shares do not go to the shareholder but are passed on to another party).

How to identify if shares are beneficially held?
Users can easily identify shareholders who hold shares beneficially or non beneficially in the shareholders screen.
From the Main Toolbar, go to Company. |

Select the Company from the list. |

Select Shareholders |
icon will appear beside shareholders where the shares are Not Beneficially held (the shares are held on behalf of another entity).
Hover the mouse over the icon to display the name of the Beneficial Owner, as well as their Address, Email, Mobile, TFN, ABN and Place of Birth as seen below. .
The Company Report and Member Registers in the Reports screen also displays if shareholdings are beneficially held.
