Support Query
When preparing unitholder documents for a unit trust, I receive the error "No unitholders on this date", even though unitholders already hold units on that date.
Solution
This error has two common causes:
- The unitholders are set to Non-Attendee.
- The transaction date is earlier than the date the unitholding started.
Cause 1: Unitholders are set to Non-Attendee
CAS 360 only includes unitholders whose meeting status is Attendee, Signatory or Chairperson on unitholder minutes and resolutions. If every unitholder is set to Non-Attendee, CAS 360 can't find any unitholders for the document and shows this error.
- From the Main Toolbar, select Trust, then select the Unit Trust from the list.
- Select the Unitholders tab.
- Click Options → Edit next to the unitholder transaction.
- Set Meeting Status to Attendee.
- Click Save, then prepare the documents again.
Company unitholders, including SMSF trustee companies
When a company holds units, such as the corporate trustee of a self-managed super fund, the company still attends meetings through its representative. Set the company's meeting status to Attendee so it's included on the documents.
Cause 2: The transaction date is before the unitholding started
If the unitholders are already set to Attendee, check the dates. CAS 360 shows this error when the transaction is dated before the unitholder was added or acquired their units.
- On the Unitholders tab, check the transaction date of each current unitholder.
- Either correct the earlier unitholder transaction date, or change the date of the new transaction to on or after that date.
