Overview
When preparing company changes, a validation error may appear stating: “Address for Contact’s Name is missing the postcode field.” This occurs when a postcode has not been entered for a contact’s address.
Cause
This validation error is triggered when the address linked to a contact involved in the company change does not contain a postcode.
In most cases, this happens when contact information has been imported from ASIC. Occasionally, formatting issues or processing limitations within the ASIC EDGE system can result in incomplete address details, including missing postcodes.
Resolution
To resolve this error, update the contact’s address by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Contacts screen.
- Select the Global Addresses tab.
- Search for the relevant address.
- Click the three dots icon, then select Edit.
- Enter the missing postcode and select Save.
Once the postcode has been added, the validation error should no longer appear when processing the address change.
