Reason for Rejection
Rejection error V418 – Country name not verified occurs when a country entered in an ASIC form does not match a valid ISO 3166-1 country name. ASIC EDGE validates country names using the ISO 3166-1 standard, requiring that the country matches the first 30 characters of an entry in Table 0029.
Cause
This error arises when an Officer/Director has a foreign country of birth or residential address, where the country name entered on a form lodged to ASIC did not exactly match the official ISO entry.
Example
-
Scotland:
When lodging through the EDGE protocol, “Scotland” is not accepted. Instead, you must enter “United Kingdom” as per the ISO standard.
Depending on the situation, clients may need to lodge either a Form 492 to correct information already lodged with ASIC, or a Form 902 in response to an ASIC requisition. For more information, please read the article below.
Forms Affected
-
Form 484 - Changes to Company Details
- Form 201 - Company Registration
Suggestion
Ensure that the place of birth of the officer on the form is correct. Where there is a foreign country of birth, select the country from the search list in CAS 360.
