A software issue has caused incorrect information to be lodged with ASIC.
When logging into CAS360, I receive the following message:
There is an error with the electronic file that needs to be lodged with ASIC. You will need to re-prepare the form, and lodge the new form. If you have any questions please contact the BGL Support team.
Issue Affects
Form 484s prepared after 6.30pm on Thursday 5th of December lodged via CAS360 before 3pm on Monday the 9th of December.
Issue
The form 484 ELS incorrectly shows a Registered and Business Address change that was never selected for lodgement.
Once these ELS files are lodged, depending on the dates of change of address an ASIC penalty might be applied to the company.
Resolution
ASIC has advised that the best way to resolve this issue is by lodging a Form 492.
When preparing the form 492 please add the below text:
‘Advising that on this lodgement the Registered Office Address and Business Address were incorrectly added to the lodgement by BGL CAS360. These changes need to be removed from the lodgement’
What if I received a fine from ASIC because of this?.
ASIC have advised that once the form 492 has been lodged, the fees for these changes will be reviewed and fees relating to the incorrect address change will be removed.
If the form was originally going to incur a late fee, this fee will not be removed. ASIC has advised that the Form 492 will be processed in 7-10 business working days.
