Support Query
I have prepared a Form 484 and there is an error, such as a misspelt address, a wrong name or an incorrect date. I have not lodged it with ASIC yet. I may have already sent it to the client to sign. How do I correct it?
Solution
A prepared Form 484 cannot be edited. Correct the details in CAS 360, then prepare a new Form 484. The steps depend on what is wrong. See How to Edit and Reprepare a Company Change
Before you start: if the form was sent for signing
If you sent the form for digital signing, void it first so the client doesn't sign the incorrect version (see How to Void Documents sent for Digital Signing). Then delete the incorrect document from the company's Documents screen.
Error in a new director's or officer's address (e.g. a misspelt street name)
- From the Main Toolbar, go to Contacts.
- Click the director's name.
- Click the address, clear the field, then select or add the correct address.
- Click Save.
- Now Reprepare the Company Change and check that the new Form 484 shows the correct address, then send it to the client to sign.
Note: Editing the address in Contacts does not create a separate address-change form. That is correct here, because the appointment is what's being notified to ASIC.
The form has already been lodged with ASIC
A lodged form can't be reprepared. Lodge a Form 492 correction instead (see How to correct mistakes on a form lodged to ASIC – Supplementary Form 492/902).
