Contact names containing hyphens or apostrophes
ASIC EDGE currently does not accept hyphens or apostrophes on initial appointment forms, such as Form 484 or Form 201, when appointing an officer.
If a contact’s name includes a hyphen or apostrophe, the initial appointment must be lodged without the special character. Once the appointment has been successfully lodged, the name can then be corrected.
To update the contact’s name to include the hyphen or apostrophe, prepare a Form 492 (or 902 if requested by ASIC to make the change) to correct the previously lodged form.
- Go to the Company and select Company Documents
- Beside the search bar, click Options, then select Prepare Form 492/902
- Select the ASIC Agent Form type you’re correcting, then indicate the DOCIMAGE/document number, including the lodgement date of the original form.
If you don’t have the DOCIMAGE Number, you can look for it in ASIC Connect (http://asicconnect.asic.gov.au/) - Indicate the Details of Correction then click Prepare Documents.
