Details
The registered office is the official address where notices may be served on the company. The registered office must be an Australian street address, not a post office box.
Public companies are required to have their registered office open to the public for at least 3 hours each business day.
Proprietary companies are not required to have their registered office open to the public but are required to have facilities for the inspection of their registers available at the registered office.
Public companies are required to prominently display the name of the company and the words "Registered Office" at the registered office of the company.
All companies are required to display the name of the company at every place at which the company carries on business that is open to the public. A sign within the premises is sufficient.
Where a company does not occupy the registered office, it must obtain written consent for the company's use of those premises as its registered office.
