What does this error mean?
Error V491 occurs when the member details in your lodgement do not match ASIC’s records.
This typically means ASIC cannot identify the member based on the details provided in the Form 484.
ASIC's Specification
If 08t (status) = CA or CN or CX or NO, name details must match a current member on ascot
Name of member does not match
Common Causes
This error may occur when:
- The member's name does not exactly match ASIC records
- A name, address, or shareholding change was entered incorrectly
- The member does not exist on ASIC’s database in the same format
- There are inconsistencies between CAS 360 and ASIC data
Suggestion
Lodge a Form RA71 - Electronic Data Download to compare all details between ASIC and CAS 360. Correct any issues in CAS 360 then reprepare the form and lodge. If there are issues with ASIC's database, you will need to contact ASIC.
