Holding companies are companies who own a majority of the shares in another company. The company in which they own these shares is known as its subsidiary.
ASIC must be notified of the following changes to the Ultimate Holding Company:
- a new ultimate holding company;
- a cessation of an existing ultimate holding company;
- a change of name of an ultimate holding company
Any changes are notified on the Change to Company Details Form 484, Section A, within 28 days of the change.

CAS 360 will display the Add/Edit Holdng Company screen.
Field | Explanation |

Ultimate Holding Company |
Begin typing the Company Name. CAS 360 will begin searching the Global Contact screen for the Company. If the Company has not been previously added to the Global Contact screen, will appear. Click to add a new contact. |
Status | Select either Current or Previous |
Date Appointed | Enter the date the Company became the holding company |
Date Ceased | Appears if the status is selected as Previous. Enter the date the company stopped being the holding company |
