Cause

This error occurs when lodging certain forms without having direct debit set up beforehand.

Form(s) Affected

• 6010/407 - Application for voluntary deregistration of a company
• 205/409 - Company Name Changes
• 201 - Company Name Reservations
• 410 - Company Name Registrations

Suggestion

To resolve the issue, you have two options:

1. Set up a Direct Debit account with ASIC
   Ensure that your company or organisation has a valid Direct Debit payment method registered with ASIC before lodging the form.
   The Form RA04 - Direct Debit Request can be used to set up the direct debit for these form lodgements.
   If direct debit has already been set up, we recommend contacting ASIC directly to confirm the direct debit details.

2. Submit documents directly to ASIC
   If a Direct Debit account cannot be immediately arranged, lodge the relevant form according to ASIC’s alternative submission procedures.
