Cause
The person signing the form is not recorded by ASIC as a current officer of the company
or
The signing officer's name on the form does not precisely match the name on ASIC's database. This can be due to misspelling, missing middle names, ASIC's database being incorrect or ASIC's database may not have been updated with a new officer details (eg name change)
Form(s) Affected
- All forms signed by a company officer. (most affected forms are the Forms 362 and 484)
Suggestion
Lodge a Form RA71 - Electronic Data Download and check the signatory is a Current company director.
Also, check that the exact details of the officer's name on ASIC's database.

If the Company is a sole director company and the company documents involve the resignation of the director and an appointment of a new director, separate forms should be prepared to process this change.
In these circumstances, first prepare the forms to appoint the officer, and once finalised and lodged, then prepare the forms to resign the officer thereafter.
