Query
A director's name in a company was incorrectly entered and lodged to ASIC. We need to update the name to the correct spelling and notify ASIC of the change. How do we do this?
Solution
Where an appointment of an officer has been lodged to ASIC with the incorrect spelling of their name, a correction can be made using the Form 492.
Changes to any forms lodged with incorrect details can be amended with this form. In the instance where you have received an ASIC requisition to make an amendment, the Supplementary Document 902 must be lodged instead.
Where an original form was lodged electronically, you may lodge the supplementary document electronically as well. If the original form was lodged manually, the supplementary document must also be lodged manually. Where an original form was lodged electronically, the DOCIMAGE number for this document (found on ASIC's internet site under the National Names Index) will begin with a number zero, followed by the letter "E". For example 0E9041339.
Please note that this change can take up to two weeks to be processed, especially if it was lodged via paper. If the change is not coming through in the RA 72 comparison report after two weeks, you may need to get in contact with ASIC to find out the status of the form.
