Share Allotments: How to enter the amount paid for the shares
Updated
Query
How do I record the amount actually paid for shares in a share allotment when the amount paid is higher than the original share value?
Example:
Allotting 100 $1 Ordinary shares (total value $100). The amount paid for the shares was $150
Solution
When processing an allotment
Click
In the Premium Paid field, enter the amount that was paid over the par value of the share. In this example it is 0.50 ($1.50-$1)
Note: The premium is not reported to ASIC as ASIC is only concerned with the par value of the share.
Users can choose to show the premium on the share certificate when in Document Production. Click next to the share certificate and turning on the toggle for Share Premium.
