Change of directors
We have seven companies where a director is deceased and another director has been appointed in his place.
I added the new director as a Contact.
I retired the deceased director and then appointed the new director and sent the forms off for signing all on the last date for lodgement.
I then lodged the forms and the lodgement has been accepted.
On the Company view, I am seeing a purple circle with the message "Lodgement Late" when I click on it. Have I missed a step somewhere along the way?
Thank you, in advance

Hi Sheila,
Thank you for reaching out in the Community.
The “Lodgement Late” message usually appears when the effective date of the director change is earlier than the date the forms were lodged, even if you lodged them on the last day for lodgement.
There are a few things that might be causing this, including:
- The cessation or appointment date being set earlier (for example, the date of the director’s death), which makes ASIC consider the lodgement late if it’s outside their 28-day window.
- Multiple changes included in the same document pack, where even one falls outside the 28-day window, causing CAS 360 to flag the whole lodgement as late.
- CAS 360 reflecting ASIC’s assessment based on effective dates, not the date the forms were prepared or sent for signing.
As there are a few possible causes, this will need to be investigated further. I would recommend creating a Support Ticket so the team can look into this in detail.
